Introduction to Garden Design Master
The eight months long course aims to deepen the main aspects that the professional will face during his work experience.
Particularly the master intends to give: - a multidisciplinary approach to the project's theme, in connection to the ability of looking at the environment through different points of view - the rules of the architectural composition and its different projecting steps - a deep knowledge of the botanic world related from time to time to the specificity of the project: Species Recognition, Choose methods of the essences - the ability to control the supportability levels of the project (environmental, social and economic) - the Garden and Landscape History Theory in order to understand and use the references for a "contemporary project" - the principal techniques of project representation and communication of it to the purchasers - the knowledge of the technical aspects of the projects (irrigators, outdoor lighting, design, street furniture) and normative (architectural features, light pollution, roof garden,...) - the skill to study in loco the practice of the project. Through "Garden safari" the student will order inspections of built landscapes, nurseries, and visit to historical gardens of Milan and Lombardy.
Program
Il master is divided into 6 unities to the amount of about 400 hours. In addition, the "Garden Safari" unit intends to concretize the various aspects and languages referring to the landscape, through class speeches (professional people, firms, experts) and visits (realized projects, nurseries, museums,...). During the course, there will be several interventions by professional people who work in the field in Italy and on a worldwide scale, a way to come close to the reality of the profession. ISAD is also going to provide to the student a final one month stage in a studio, agency or company.
