2002-2003 ISAD - First Competition for Korean students

Objective

ISAD proposes this competition in collaboration with an ex-student and than tutor for ISAD’s courses of Interior Design, Dott.Arch.Park Sang-Hyun ( actually BK 21 Professor in Kook-Min University of Seoul ), to stimulate the creativity of Korean students.

Competition Theme

Shops and Showrooms for Italian Fashion in Chongdam-dong Street, Seoul.

Chongdam-dong Street is a famous fashion area in Seoul such as Montenapoleone Street in Milan.

Students can choose the existing site and the Italian fashion designer ( for example: Giorgio Armani, Versace, Dolce&Gabbana, Gucci, Prada, etc…) as theme and target of the project.

The restyling and remodelling of the existing buildings and the new construction on the empty site are both possible.

The interiors must be designed with a particular attention to details, and students that have experience in industrial design will have the opportunity to develop in detail the display elements and the window displays of the shops or showrooms.

Conditions of participation

1. Students enrolled minimum in the 4th year of the Faculty of Architecture and
Design ( Interior, Industrial, Environmental, Landscape, Visual, etc…) of University
in Korea.

2. Post-graduates in the field of Architecture and Design.

Prizes

1. 1st Prize: Free of fees for the Master courses in Interior Design or Industrial
Design of the academic year 2003-2004 equivalent to
6,000,000 won.

2. 2nd Prize: Reduction of 50% on the tuition fees of the above mentioned
Master courses equivalent to 3,000,000 won.

3. 3rd Prize: Reduction of 30% on the tuition fees of the above mentioned
Master courses equivalent to approximately 1,800,000 won.

1. 2 to 3 A1 sheets ( 594mm x 841 mm )
2. 2 to 3 A3 sheets ( 297mm x 420 mm )
3. 1 A4 sheet for a brief conceptual relation
